We use suction-based cupping in our office for soft tissue mobilization. While most soft tissue release and massage techniques are compressive, cupping is decompressive in nature. It lifts the target tissue up while promoting blood flow to the area. It was also be used to address scar tissue restrictions and relieve pain.
